All experience in Nar-Anon is equally valid. That said, it often helps to hear personal narratives similar to one’s own… we provide a safe space of experiential intimacy for moms with children suffering from the family disease of addiction.
Excerpted from MOMS’ Purpose Statement
Moms Sharing Nar-Anon includes two MOMS’ Nar-Anon Family Groups (NFG): Moms Offering Moms Support in Texas on Mondays and Moms Offering Moms Serenity on Wednesdays. Each family group offers a virtual online meeting that can be attended from anywhere around the globe. These family groups were formed to provide a safe space of experiential intimacy for moms with children (of any age) suffering from the family disease of addiction.1

In our meetings, you will likely find moms (and grandmoms) sharing pain, heartache, confusion, and chaos very similar to yours. You will also find members sharing their own experiences, strengths, and hopes. The members of these meetings offer compassion and understanding like few others (even family members and friends) can because they have walked the same paths with their own children who are struggling with the family disease of addiction.

Moms Offering Moms Serenity NFG
Moms Offering Moms Serenity NFG (MOMSerenity NFG), which held its first meeting on Wednesday, March 9th, 2022, is a registered virtual Nar-Anon Family Group (NFG) hosted by the Rocky Mountain Region. Meetings are held virtually on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. PT | 11:00 a.m. MT | 12:00 P.m. CT | 1:00 p.m. ET.

Moms Offering Moms Support in Texas NFG
Moms Offering Moms Support in Texas NFG (MOMSupport NTX NFG), which held its first meeting on Monday, July 4th, 2022, began as an evening alternative to the first MOMS Nar-Anon Family Group and was formed by the same women. It is also a registered virtual Nar-Anon Family Group (NFG). It is hosted by the Lone Star Region. Meetings are held virtually on Monday evenings at 5 p.m. PT | 6 p.m. MT | 7 p.m. CT | 8 p.m. ET.
We MOMS’ fellowships understand how difficult it can be to apply tough love and allow the consequences of our addicted loved ones to occur naturally; but by members sharing their own experience, strength, and hope, and with the help of Nar-Anon meetings, sponsorship, and the working of Nar-Anon’s 12 Steps, it is possible to find serenity and peace of mind. We can reach out to a fellowship of other women who will offer love and unconditional acceptance in our times of need. We attend our meetings in this spirit, “Listen to Learn & Share to Heal.”
You may find that we first come to Nar-Anon MOMS meetings and other Nar-Anon meetings for help in moments of crisis, but in keeping with Nar-Anon’s Step 12, you will also find that many members who are living in recovery one day at a time continue coming to meetings to help grow and maintain their own recovery as well as to help their newly arrived fellow travelers.
We do understand how you feel. We are here for you. Please join us.2
All are Welcome
As we learn in Tradition 5, “Each Nar-Anon Family Group has but one purpose; to help families of addicts…” MOMS’ family groups are here to help you, our fellow travelers, as well as ourselves. Nar-Anon Tradition 3 states, “The only requirement for membership is that there be a problem of addiction in a relative or friend,” thus all Nar-Anon members are welcome to attend both meetings.

- In keeping with Nar-Anon’s principles, each meeting is a separate and autonomous Nar-Anon Family Group. That said, both MOMS’ meetings are primarily comprised of moms of children who are addicts, and the discussions therein tend to emphasize the particular experiences unique to moms of addicted children (regardless of their age). ↩︎
- We encourage you to attend as many Nar-Anon meetings as you find useful to your journey. It is often suggested that you attend at least six meetings before deciding whether or not Nar-Anon is right for you. Different meetings have different flavors; that is, different groups are autonomous, and the members therein may offer a different type of meeting as long as it follows the principles of Nar-Anon.
The Nar-Anon website provides a full listing of in-person (brick-and-mortar) meetings at https://www.nar-anon.org/find-a-meeting, and the website also provides a comprehensive listing of all registered online (virtual) meetings at nar-anon.org/virtual-english or nar-anon.org/virtual-spanish.
