Group Service
Service is the third legacy of recovery. All members of the MOMS Nar-Anon Family Groups are encouraged and welcome to participate in any service opportunities.
After attending meetings for a while, you may want to lead a meeting, select a topic for the day, share the meeting slides (IT Host; training required), or serve as the group Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, or Group Service Representative (GSR). We have found that doing service work has been very helpful in our recovery.
Concept 5 – For each responsibility assigned to the service structure, a single point of decision and accountability should be clearly defined.
Concept 7 – All members of a service body bear substantial responsibility for that body’s decisions and should be allowed to fully participate in its decision-making processes.
Tradition 5 – Each Nar-Anon Family Group has but one purpose; to help families of addicts. We do this by practicing the 12 steps of Nar-Anon, by encouraging and understanding our addicted relatives, and by welcoming and giving comfort to families of addicts.
Meeting Sign-up Sheets
Format Readers, Topic Leaders, and IT Hosts are needed for every meeting. Please select the meeting below in which you would like to serve and choose the date that works best for you. Please note that the Format Leader simply reads the meeting format, the Topic Leader selects the topic for the meeting (using one or two readings from CAL as a guide), and the IT Host shares the meeting slides with the group (training required). Current links can be found under the service headers of your selected meeting.
